Customer Rating :
Rating: 4.7

Product Description

Count Chocula debuted in 1971, the first of a new line of so called Monster Cereals i.e., cereals named after the monster characters who starred in the TV commercials that advertised them. Frankenberry followed later that year, then Boo Berry and Fruit Brute in 1973, and finally Yummy Mummy (not officially a part of the line) in 1987. Choc was not just the first, but also the most popular of the bunch.

  • Pack of four, 10.4 ounce boxes (total 41.6 ounce)
  • Frosted chocolate flavored cereal with marshmallows
  • Count Chocula was the first of the new line of monster cereals

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY, July 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
First of all, nobody told me this cereal was getting discontinued in the stores. Big mistake. I almost went Fruit Brute in my city chasing cars and stealing babies. I don't know who came up with the horrible horrible horrible idea to discontinue selling the physical embodiment of delicious. For the last few weeks I've been eating Cocoa Puffs trying to pretend like everything was okay. Well you know what? It wasn't okay. Eating Cocoa Puffs in place of Count Chocula is like dating a girl that looks sort of like the woman you love. You're only fooling yourself. Count Chocula is the best cereal ever. Period.

I won't go into detail on how amazing this cereal is, because I feel the above comments say enough.

What I will enlighten the lovers of this cereal about is its current availability. I wrote to General Mills Corp about this cereal, and this is what a representative from their Consumer Services department came back with:

Count Chocula is my wife's favorite cereal. She is currently pregnant and dealing with a lot of nausea. One of the only things she can eat without a problem is Count Chocula.
